I have come to like this small work more and more, despite its derivative nature. I think of it as an extension of 'the red studio' by Matisse, though it ended up with some delicious browns that help hold it together. Old Saint Bartholomew is ready to lay down some keyboard tracks once he finishes holding Michelangelo's self-portrait.
